10 DIY Face Masks to Try During Quarantine

With all the current uncertainty and stress, the toll on our skin is inevitable.  We are going to talk about 10 DIY Face Masks that can help keep you looking fresh and feeling great, right at home.

These easy, at home face-masks are the way to do it.  Best of all, they’re 100% organic!

1 - For a Healthy Glow: Pumpkin Smoothie Mask

1/2 cup canned pumpkin (frozen)
1 cup almond milk
1/2 banana (frozen)
1 tsp cinnamon
honey or maple syrup (optional)

 

Directions: Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for one minute, or until smooth. Enjoy as a smoothie, and save one tablespoon for a DIY mask. Apply mask, then remove with a warm washcloth and moisturize.

 

2 - For a Youthful Glow: Peaches + Cream Smoothie Mask

1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 ripe peaches sliced, pit removed
1/4 tsp cinnamon
honey or coconut nectar (optional)

Directions: Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for one minute, or until smooth. Enjoy as a smoothie, and save one tablespoon for a DIY mask.

1 Tbsp natural peanut butter
½ cup fresh raspberries
½ cup fresh strawberries
1 Tbsp raw coconut nectar

4 - For Softer Skin: Honey-Avocado Mask

2 Tbsp of honey
2 Tbsp of avocado
2 Tbsp of olive oil
1 mashed mango

Directions: Mix all the ingredients together. Leave on for 15 minutes and then remove with a warm cloth.

5 - To Reduce Puffiness: Coffee Turmeric Mask

1 Tbsp of instant or ground coffee
1 Tbsp of powdered turmeric
1 Tbsp of Greek yogurt

Directions: Mix together. Apply it all over your face, making sure to put it under the eye area as well. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes before removing it with a warm, damp towel.

6 - For Smooth Skin: Papaya Greek Yogurt Mask

2 Tbsp of ripe, mashed papaya
1 Tbsp of full-fat plain yogurt

Directions: Mix the papaya and yogurt together and then apply it to a clean face, neck, and décolleté in gentle, upward-sweeping motions. Leave the mask on for three to 10 minutes, depending on your skin's sensitivity. Wash off with water and follow with toner and facial moisturizer.


7 - To Fight Acne: Turmeric Mask
Greek yogurt DIY mask

1 Tbsp of organic Greek yogurt
1 tsp of honey
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp aloe

Directions: Combine all the ingredients together and leave on for 10 minutes.

 

Oatmeal matcha mask
1/4 cup cooked, plain oatmeal
1/4 tsp matcha powder
1/2 tsp of honey
Directions: Stir the ingredients together and then squeeze in fresh lemon juice, mixing until you get the right consistency for a mask. Apply the mixture to clean skin for 10 minutes. Once the time is up, wet your hands and begin massaging skin to create a light exfoliation before rinsing. Remember: If you have active acne, be extra gentle when exfoliating.

9 - To Calm Inflammation: Potato Turmeric Mask

One grated white potato
One grated cucumber
A few drops of rose water
1/4 tsp of turmeric

Directions: Blend ingredients together and rinse after 10 minutes. Use a cloth to help make sure you get all the grated veggies off your face.
10 -To Exfoliate: Coffee Mask
Honey lemon mask for skin

1 Tbsp of finely ground espresso beans
1 Tbsp of honey
1 1/2 tsp of aloe gel
2 1/4 tsp of fresh lemon juice (optional)

Directions: Blend the coffee grounds and honey together until a paste forms. Add the aloe gel and lemon juice until everything is well combined (if you have sensitive or redness-prone skin, skip the lemon juice). Very gently apply the mask to your face. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
